Welcome to our new and improved site! Lucky for you, the beauty of our new virtual digs has given us the confidence to share this round-up of spectacularly heinous images – the best of the worst things found on our recent thrift store trips.
You asked for it! (Well, two of you did in the comments awhile ago – and now everyone must board the crazy train right along with us.)
It turns out a version of this high-heel shoe chair is never not on Anchorage and Eugene’s Craigslist. How is it possible that so many people are getting rid of such sexy furniture?
Every design blog advises bringing greenery into a space to give it life, and thrift stores provide myriad ways for you to stay on trend. “Freedom of choice” might be a bit off message for this particular planter, though.
Succulent planters are so hip right now – here’s a classy one that would be perfect in any setting:
In case you’re wondering, this is how Ligers are made:
Clowns are to thrift stores as sand is to the beach … essential. and everywhere. And here we have a collection of professional clowns–a perfect gift for any graduate school grad!
Whether inadvertent or on purpose, this display is awesome. Pure merchandising genius to pose babies dressed as bears next to wildlife shot glasses.
Exquisite portraiture abounds. Mera found her southern belle counterpart.
It might be the weight of his bouffant that’s causing this little lord to cry.
Just $16 for this artistic vision?
Because who doesn’t need a plate painted with an image of Michael Jackson making out with Rob Thomas?
A little something to gift to your sweet pea:
And last but not least, a series of large posters. Teenage girls everywhere are going to look at the One Direction posters in their rooms and decide to go a different direction in favor of the 1970s dairy-man heart throb.
Please have a look around the new site and tell us what you think! Also, check out our ‘follow us’ buttons–we have a new Facebook page, and you can also follow along with us on Bloglovin and Pinterest. Thanks guys!
Oh I’m so glad I asked you to consider this feature. Those “treasures” are even more spectacularly awful than I could dare to hope for. My favourites are the dairy posters. Those made me actually chuckle loudly. You are so right about the ubiquity of clowns in thrift stores. As someone with a clown phobia, I would like that to not be the case.
I forgot to comment about the new site. It looks great and is easy to navigate and use in an Internet browser but I note that in the WordPress reader I cant “like” or comment.
Excellent feedback Laura, thank you! We’re looking into it–we do so like your likes!
Oh you two are hilarious! I have always always wondered about Ligers, but never expected to see such an anatomically correct depiction to answer my wondering. And the new site is beautiful!
So THAT’S where ligers come from!
Hey, I think I’m one of the two who asked for this feature. You did NOT disappoint! Hilarious.
The new site looks pretty sweet. It did take me a while to figure out how to comment. But then I am a techie luddite.
You are definitely (at least partially) responsible for the horrors contained within this post. Thanks Nina!
It took me until last week to figure out how to comment! I love your new site, and you two are as funny and as entertaining as ever. I just laughed and laughed at this post. Ligers and Dairy man heartthrobs and crying children. Such finds!
Aren’t they treasures? So glad to have your voice back on the blog!
