Look We’re Loving: Antique Beds in Children’s Rooms

We’ve been noticing a shift away from a purely mid-century aesthetic in the land of design blogs lately.  While we’re both mcm fans, the addition of looks from other eras is a welcome change.  We’re seeing a lot of vintage furniture in kids’ rooms, and especially antique beds.  We’re big fans of the look, so we thought we would share a few favorites from around the web.  Enjoy!

Speaking of rooms for little ones, I’ll be sharing a peek into Opal’s updated room on Wednesday–stay tuned!

Be still my beating heart! A shift away from mcm – to furniture and rooms like these joys! Thank you for spotting and reporting on this most welcome trend. And I’m eager to hear about Opal’s updated room.

It’s true, we’re forecasting (or at least hoping for) a shift away from the purely mcm style that’s been dominating the decorating world. Nothing in Opal’s room will surprise you, since you’re the one who put in the labor to make it so cute!

They are cozy, aren’t they? I love the slightly raised sides on most of them. I wish grown up beds were like that — I would love the feel of tucking in behind those rails! Thanks Michelle!

i love them so much…like a little grown-up touch to the room. my daughter has one in her room that we painted white (the wood was in terrible shape when i hauled it home from a nearby dumpster! yep, i’m that person). and we just painted it navy blue…which made me fall in love with it all over again.
