Fringed textiles are a recurrent theme in the most boheme of bohemian spaces, especially intricately embroidered and diaphanous piano shawls. We both love the look, and decided to collect images of spaces that put these delicate wraps through their decorating paces.

Ladies-I need directions on how to make one two or even three of these shawls!!!!!!
I think fringed shawls are very pretty aesthetically. However, my style is not quite feminine enough for it to work in my home. I did once have a fringed tablecloth but the bottom of the fringe kept getting sucked into the vacuum cleaner with disastrous results for whatever was on the table and the vacuum so that was the end of that.
Love Laura’s story above (that would be my fate), but oh I love these photos in the early morning – all that color and all that artfully arranged (not impacted by dogs or cats or children) fringe! (Some dim memory is presenting itself – about nervously braiding fringe, but I think that’s just on a wool blanket during scary tv.)

I don’t foresee a lot of fringe in my future, although I’m sure that my feline friends would enjoy it immensely. I do, however, really like these colorful, cheerful rooms. Thanks for sharing!
Fringe always makes me think of Fortune Teller tables and Russian Babushkas and my tap dance recitals. The photos in your post make me want a bit of fringe around the house. I love especially the last one with the red cloth and yellow ceiling. I remember watching Jimi in concert, and think he was WEARING fringe, or at least a scarf tied around his head or leg or sometimes his arm. Ah – those were the days.
